What type of treatment is suitable for me?

The type of treatment depends on the age of the patient and the severity of the problem.

Children’s orthodontics

The ideal time to be referred by your family dentist is when all of the deciduous teeth have been lost and their permanent replacements have come through, which is commonly between 11 and 14 years of age. If your dentist is concerned about any specific problem before this stage, you will be advised accordingly.

Children who are eligible can be seen under the NHS.
Children and teenagers are also welcome to consider our range of private treatments.

Adult orthodontics

Orthodontic treatment can be carried out at any age and an increasing number of adults are having treatment they wish they had in their teens. Many adults that had earlier treatment are having re-treatment as part of an “image makeover”. A wide range of braces are now available that are either invisible or less noticeable.

Private treatment

Private orthodontic treatment is increasingly popular and affordable. We provide private orthodontic treatment for adults and children alike and offer a comprehensive range of private orthodontic services, which includes the new low-visibility braces. For example:

  • Invisalign Clear aligners can be used to make the appliance less noticeable.
  • Lingual Braces In some cases the fixed appliance can be cemented on the inside of the teeth and are therefore completely invisible.
  • Ceramic Braces These are ideal for patients who are not suitable for Invisalign® or lingual appliances but who still wish to look good during treatment. Made of clear ceramic blocks and a thin metal wire, the ceramic braces offer a low visibility solution.

The cost of private treatment can be explained on your first appointment according to the type of treatment that is suitable for you.
